Visteon, a pure-play supplier of automotive cockpit electronics, the fastest-growing segment in the industry, and a Fortune 500 company has implemented MeRLIN as the foundation for its procurement transformation.
Given the nature of the highly competitive industry and their huge number of widespread suppliers across countries, Visteon needed a solution to ensure they have the right materials meeting quality requirements at the right time in order to ramp up their manufacturing capacity and meet customer needs as well as satisfy all the required terms to show higher profitability. The modules implemented includes Supplier Management – Supplier Information Management, Sourcing, Catalogue Management and Analytics. The solution also includes an internet based supplier portal.
MeRLIN implementation will help Visteon to create a single source of truth for all master data including parts, suppliers, prices, purchase orders etc. and consolidate data from multiple ERP instances. The solution will enable standardization and unification of business processes, templates and business rules across all regions. The complete automation of sourcing and awarding processes and increased visibility of all parts and prices using the system is expected to significantly increase competitiveness, reduce procurement errors and free up time of procurement team members to focus on more strategic activities.
